Ski and carnival breaks in the Swiss Alps

Monday, 14 February 2011 5:13 PM

The late-season skiing in Switzerland is predicted to be excellent, although that’s not the only reason to visit this Alpine country this spring, with a range of exciting après-ski and spa packages on offer in the resort of Pontresina.

This peaceful mountain resort offers easy access to St Moritz for great skiing, while the 17th and 18th century houses offer a touch of classical style to your luxury break.

Stay at the Grand Hotel Kronenhof to take advantage of their Sunshine Days package, which includes three nights half-board accommodation, a two-day ski pass for the Upper Engadine or a Kronenhof Spa wellness pass, meaning non-skiers can have a great time too.

Furthermore, guests arriving for the week of March 3 to 9 can enjoy a taste of the Venetian Carnival atmosphere, as the Grand Hotel Kronenhof is hosting a champagne gala dinner on March 5.

Prices start at CHF1,110 (£740) per person, including a 25-minute spa treatment, while the Sunshine Days package costs CHF780 (£510) per head.
