New city breaks from London City airport

Monday, 25 October 2010 2:21 PM

Don’t waste time travelling out of the City to begin your mini break, with new routes to Stockholm and Florence opening this winter.

The Italian capital of culture is now within easy reach of London City Airport, with CityJet launching a new service, which will run six times per week. A limited service will run over the Christmas holidays for families looking to enjoy the festive season in the Tuscan countryside, with the full service starting on January 10.

Florence Airport is just 15-minutes drive from the city, where visitors can enjoy the world-class selection of museums, art galleries and fine Italian restaurants. The region is also noted for its wine, with the local Chianti particularly celebrated. Prices with CityJet start at £79 each way.

Alternatively head north to the Swedish capital of Stockholm with British Airways. BA is launching a new twice-daily route from London City Airport in spring 2011. Catch the last of the winter’s glistening snow in Scandinavia with affordable flights available from £65 each way.
