Take a culture break in Berlin

Tuesday, 29 March 2011 9:17 AM

As Brits downsize their holidays due to finances, a break in Berlin could be even easier to justify as you mix culture with a well-earned holiday.

The German capital, as well as boasting plenty of history, architecture and shops to explore is famous for its culture.

Whether it’s the diverse art scene, the 153 museums or the 50 theatres the city plays host to, there’s something to enjoy every hour of the day.

The city is boasting the fact that ‘night can be turned into day’ as guests enjoy a late showing at the current Film Festival, a night-time gallery tour, or a trip to the theatre at midnight.

If the reasons already mentioned aren’t enough to get you to visit how about the chance to see Frank Sinatra, Tina Turner and Elvis Presley all on one stage in the 'Stars in Concert' Show!

Or the ‘Gallery Weekend’, where 44 galleries throw open their doors for a tour through the colourful creative scene of the German capital.

The city also boasts over 700 hotels so there’s plenty of choice from five star luxury to a simple bed for the night, after all you’ll be out exploring for most of it.
