Win a romantic trip to Paris this Valentine’s Day
Heathrow Airport are celebrating Valentine’s Day – by offering couples a chance to win a romantic short break for two in Paris.
In order to win the return flights to the city of love, plus two nights’ free accommodation in a four-star hotel, entrants need to guess exactly how many bottles of champagne are bought at Heathrow each day.
Correct guesses made on the website will go in to a draw to pick a final winner. Two runners up will win some Laurent Perrier champagne courtesy of World Duty Free.
Heathrow, which is no stranger to romance - having been one of the locations for the film Love Actually, is celebrating Valentine’s Day after it was revealed that the airport is very popular amongst romantic travellers.
Research has shown that passengers at the London Airport kiss, on average, every 49 seconds. That means that 74 kisses are shared every hour - the equivalent to 1,258 kisses per day.
Terminal 3 Arrivals is the most popular place to share a kiss in the airport. The result is particularly appropriate as Richard Curtis’s romantic comedy was actually shot on location there.
This Valentine’s Day nearly half a million passengers plan to fly from Heathrow between the 10th and 14th February. The majority of valentine’s passengers will be flying to New York for the weekend – making the ‘big apple’ the number one romantic destination for Brits 2012.
