Manchester plans giant tea party to celebrate the Jubilee
What do cup cake decorating, a Perfect Pooch dog show, face painting and a bespoke Queen's Jubilee Breakfast Tea have in common?
Well, they are scheduled to get Brits into the party spirit during the Giant Vintage Tea Party in Manchester this June.
The family-friendly event is being held over the bank holiday weekend, to celebrate the Queen's Diamond Jubilee. The organisers - Social Butterfly and Perfect Days Vintage - are hoping that it will be one of the biggest festivities in the region.
Highlights include a Great British Bake Off competition, Perfect Pooch dog show, Fabulous 50's Guy/Girl competition, tea leaf readings and performances from local bands and artists.
Children will be able to get involved with a variety of royal themed activities such as union jack face painting and create your own crown workshop as well as pass the parcel and cupcake decorating.

During the event, hungry revelers can chow down on local British food - from Fish and Chips, to hogs roasts, handmade pies and fresh lemonade. The Sugar Junction Tea Rooms will even be serving their famous Crown Jewels afternoon tea, complete with a bespoke Queen's Jubilee Breakfast Tea.
Rachael Adams and Katie Mitchell, organisers of the tea party, commented: "We are truly excited about the event which we are hoping will attract around 1'000 people from across the region.
"The Queen's Jubilee is the perfect excuse to organise a fun event for all the family to enjoy and Stockport Victorian Markets is a great location, as it not only reflects the historical nature of the Queen's Diamond Jubilee but it is also very accessible for people travelling from all over Greater Manchester."
A percentage of ticket sales from the Great Vintage Tea Party will be donated to Marie Curie Cancer Care.
Early bird tickets will cost £5 for adults and £3 for children, or £20 for a family saver ticket.
