For the ultimate short break, New York holidays are perfect for those who like to shop. Not only is the US city home to some of the most famous designer stores in the world, but it also boasts smaller retailers that are great for picking up a bargain.

If you manage to secure cheap business class flights to New York, you will hopefully have lots of cash left over for some serious shopping. Below is a roundup of the best places to hunt out fantastic deals.

Century 21

When you visit Century 21, it will be hard not to pick up everything you see. There are several of these in New York, including in the downtown, Brooklyn and Long Island areas. It has been established for 50 years and turned itself into something of a place to go for those in the know.

A discount of up to 65 per cent is available on designer items, so you can search for outfits in the upmarket stores such as Saks Fifth Avenue, and try to find a similar one in Century 21!

Loehmann's

Located at 101 7th Avenue, Loehmann's offers between 30 and 65 per cent off retail prices. After you have browsed the main store, head to the Back Room, which boasts high-end designer items. You could end up walking away with a piece you have dreamt about owning, but have never been able to afford.

Gabay's Outlet

If browsing famous department stores such as Bergdorf Goodman and Saks has left you a little downhearted about what you can afford on your short break to New York, Gabay's Outlet is the place for you. It takes overstock from popular shops, so you actually could end up with the very accessory or dress you were looking for in the first place.
