The nation’s ideal celebrity travel companion, revealed

Monday, 13 February 2012 5:41 PM

Mark Wright and Kelly Brook are the celebrities that Brits would most like to share a romantic short break holiday with this Valentine’s Day, according to a survey by LateRooms.com.

The reality TV lothario scored 19 per cent of the votes in the accommodation websites poll – tying joint first with Prince Harry as the celebrity that the nation dreams of spending a weekend with.

Of the female celebrities, curvatious Kelly Brook beat Kate Middleton and her sister Pippa to the crown – grabbing 28 per cent of the vote. Other popular celebs included Carol Vordermen, Nigella Lawson and new mum Beyonce.

More unusual date choices ranged from funny-woman Jo Brand and the original Iron Lady, Margaret Thatcher - proving that there's no such thing as one 'ideal' travel companion.

Lynda Matthwes, Lynda Matthews, Offline Marketing Manager at LateRooms.com. said: " It was certainly interesting to find out who Britain would most like to wake up next to on Valentine's day, especially to see such different types of people such as Mark Wright and Prince Harry go head to head.

Even though people may not want to go ‘high society’ in their gift selection this year, LateRooms.com have got a range of romantic and luxurious hotels at fantastic prices, which will keep both partner and bank balance happy."

LateRooms.com offers customers a saving of up to 70 per cent off the normal room rate for a variety of independent and branded hotels. Customers can book online or by phone 24/7, whether booking 12 months or 12 minutes in advance - whatever time, whatever day.
