Lake District named top UK National Park by Countryfile
The Lake District has topped a poll of BBC Countryfile magazine readers to be awarded the best national park in the UK. The award came after Countryfile readers voted the Lake District ahead of all 14 other national parks, beating the Peak Districts and Northumberland into second and third respectively.
Pedal power around the Peak District, sketching as you go
Explore the Peak Distract this spring by pedal power as the next guided tour on the Monsal Trail is to take place on Sunday 27 March. The Tour de Sketch ride is organised by the National Park Authority's Pedal Peak District project and will allow cyclists and sketchers to explore an area of natural beauty.
